Helping businesses improve sustainability - a FREE Webinar - open to all RBWM Businesses

Thursday 28 March at 10:00

Tourism businesses across the Royal Borough have been working unilaterally on sustainability in a variety of ways, but VisitWindsor’s new five-year tourism development plan puts the agenda centre stage.

Achieving a sustainable balance between the interests of visitors, residents, businesses and the built and natural environments will in future underpin how the borough thinks about tourism development and influence the actions it takes.

Green Tourism understands that sustainability is the key to success within the modern hospitality industry.  Its awards certification programme recognises the commitment of tourism businesses which are actively working to become more sustainable and are acknowledged worldwide as an indicator of good environmentally friendly practice.  They are the hallmark of ‘green quality’ attracting custom from increasing numbers of eco-minded visitors.

On Thursday 28 March, we will be joined by the Green Tourism Managing Director, Scott Maclean, who will introduce the Green Tourism programme, and explain how you can use this well-established sustainability framework to inform and evidence your sustainability commitment.

Scott has worked with hundreds of businesses, and destinations to support their sustainability improvement journey - experiencing how they start, advance, and market their sustainability commitment.

He is passionate that businesses in the industry benefit from building sustainability into their brand and is committed to providing practical and impactful support to achieve this.

Having worked with businesses and destinations at all stages of their sustainability journey, Scott understands the challenges, the opportunities, the quick wins, and the aspects of the improvement process which need to be ‘worked at’.

We will also be joined by Freya Nash, the Sustainability Officer of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Freya will provide valuable insights into the Borough's Environment and Climate Strategy, shedding light on how businesses in the area can enhance their sustainability efforts with the support of the Council.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about the initiatives driving positive change in our community.
