Latest Networking

On Tuesday of this week, MyRoyalBorough hosted another Business Networking Event, attended by over 50 small local businesses from within the Royal Borough – we welcomed back several regulars and were happy to meet plenty of new faces too. Once again, the feedback we have received has been extremely positive - why not come along to the next one, which will be held in January? (Stay tuned to find out the exact date)

Everyone enjoyed the chance to share ideas, ask questions to experts within the group, and link to other small businesses to collaborate on future projects. We heard of plenty of examples where businesses have met and linked up at previous MyRoyalBorough events, forming brilliant partnerships and working together to achieve common business goals.

Martin Cabble-Reid, founder of Upgrade Your Day hosted the proceedings and kept us entertained and on track timings – ahead of his upcoming run as Pantomime Comic at Theatre Royal Windsor.

We enjoyed fabulous hospitality courtesy of CIM Business Centre, who showcased their impressive function menu, and gave a full tour of their fantastic venue. Did you know that not only are they experts in hosting business and training events, they also offer their gorgeous venue for venues, private parties and corporate events. The grounds are spectacular, so there’s plenty of space for large events all year round.

Chris Miller from MIL Pet Photography was extremely generous in sharing his time, expertise and knowledge of LinkedIn and offered us a deeply insightful workshop on creating a Power Profile to maximise your sales through LinkedIn. Chris has used LinkedIn to great effect in his Dog Photography business; remember that gift vouchers are available for any dog lovers in your house for Christmas.

A few helpful contacts, following the meeting on Tuesday:

Cllr David Buckley, who is the Royal Borough Business Champion attended the Networking Event. If you have a business related question, idea or matter you’d like to discuss with Cllr Buckley, please do email him on: Cllr.Buckley@RBWM.gov.uk

Jon Davey has an idea to create a Directory of Community Groups Charities for the Royal Borough. If you are a local community group or charity, please do get in touch with Jon to find out more, and there are still a couple of sponsorship opportunities available, for any companies wishing to support.

Have Your Say:

If you’re a small business in The Royal Borough this is your chance to have your say in plans over the coming years. RBWM is holding early conversations to help shape a new strategy that will set out refreshed priorities for the council and the place it serves – and the council wants to hear from the business community to inform this vision.

  • We would like to hear your thoughts on questions including:

  • How the council can work more effectively in partnership with local business?

  • What are the key challenges and opportunities around recruitment?

  • What should the council prioritise in terms of its support for business?

Feedback from this survey will be used to inform the council's development of its priorities and Corporate Plan. The survey will only take 5-10 minutes to complete, and its a great opportunity to have your thoughts considered.

Responses should be submitted by 8th December. You can complete the survey, online, here:
