The Dash Charity

The Dash Charity provide specialist support to adults and children experiencing mental health issues, modern slavery, immigration, trafficking, homelessness and complex needs associated with Domestic Abuse, empowering them to live a life beyond crisis and ensuring their voices are heard. They also deliver RBWMs domestic abuse support programme - read more about their fantastic work here.

Our International Women’s Day event held at Windsor & Eton Brewery on Friday 8th March, raised over £1,100 for the charity, through donations on the door and an amazing raffle - very generously supported by a host of local businesses.

Nicola Miller, CEO of The Dash Charity commented: “We were bowled over by the strength of the women – and male allies – in the room at the MyRoyalBorough networking event for International Women’s Day. It’s a valuable way to raise awareness of domestic abuse and how to address disclosures in business settings. Thank you to everyone who came together to inspire inclusion for women in Berkshire.

“In a society where we’re becoming increasingly aware that domestic abuse affects any gender, we are sadly reminded on International Women’s Day that domestic abuse remains a gendered issue. The root cause issues of violence against women are embedded in the historical and cultural unequal status of women in society. That status remains unequal in many parts of our society, with lasting impact and far-reaching consequences.”

We wish to thank the generosity of the following local companies who kindly donated gifts and experiences to the raffle:

Ascot Racecourse, Craft Coop Windsor, Creek Paddles, Daniel Department Store, Elaine Café, Sunningdale, Eton T-shirt Company, Fortescues of Windsor, Fox & Castle, Old Windsor, Goswell House & Meimo Restaurant, Guards Polo Club, Ieva Poriete, Kris Cruisers, Datchet, MacDonald Hotel Windsor, Stanley Spencer Gallery, Cookham, Sweaty Betty Windsor, Wildcat Willie, Windsor & Eton PhotoArt, Windsor Great Park & Savill Garden, Windsor Royal Racecourse, Windsor Wino's Club.
