My Royal Borough, in partnership with Instagrammers Windsor and Eton, Windsor Tourist Guides and Visit Windsor, hosted its first ever safe and socially distanced instameet on October 3rd

The goal of our instameet was to share the best of My Royal Borough’s shop local, tourism and hidden gems with our community on a walking tour while also viewing our borough through our visitors’ camera lenses.

The group took a photographic tour of our beautiful borough while also capturing it for our Instagram and social media community.

We were joined by 6 guests who were divided into two groups and went on a scavenger hunt themed tour around Windsor and Eton, and were tasked with taking photos of independent business shopfronts, featuring shop façades, restaurants, clothing shops, and venues with cultural and historical interest. We are sure to see loads of geese, ducks and swans and nature shots, too.

What’s Next?

Our instagrammer photographers are now uploading their photos to their respective instagram pages and are submitting their images to our team for uploading to our My Royal Borough website. We will then hold a competition, enabling the public to vote for their “fan favourite” of the Instameet. The winning photographer will receive Afternoon Tea with entry included into the Savill Garden, courtesy of The Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park.

We plan to carry out further instameets in other areas of the borough to help everyone Rediscover the Royal Borough. Do you have any suggestions for our next location?
