Let’s bring some joy into My Royal Borough!

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have announced that they will switch on Christmas lights this weekend for Ascot, Eton, Maidenhead and Windsor. Let’s all join in with our community and help light up the borough. (And have a chance to win £250 to shop local!)

What better way to do this than to decorate for the holiday? You can find lots of local shops that are trading both on and offline in our directory, which we update daily.

Our community has worked collaboratively and brilliantly throughout the challenges of 2020. Since we aren’t doing the normal Christmas light switch on events, the Council is asking for us to join in and light up the borough. From their press release:

“Decorate your garden, front window or create a festive display in your home and share your pictures with us by tagging @MyRoyalBorough, using the hashtag #LightUpMyRBWM and you could win a £250 prize to shop local in the borough. 

To be in with the chance of winning residents should post your pictures between Saturday 21 November and Sunday 6 December tagging @MyRoyalBorough on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (or all 3!) and using the #LightUpMyRBWM. The winner will be announced on Friday 11 December.”

Here’s the process:

1. Decorate!

2. Post your photo between 21 November - 6 December and tag @MyRoyalBorough #LightUpMyRBWM.

3. The winner of a £250 prize to shop local in the borough will be announced 11 December.
